We went to the zoo on Wednesday, Alejandro did amazing! I had the Sleepy Wrap and he slept for 3 hours, ate was awake when we went through the aquarium, then slept for another 3 hours until we left.
When we first got to the zoo we went into the Lied Forest and two little monkeys literally came up to our stroller and acted like they wanted to jump onto Alejandro in the wrap. Later a lady said she thinks it's because he looked like a baby monkey inside. Scary little things they were. This picture wasn't zoomed in or anything he is on the railing right next to our stroller!
You could see through to the other side so we had our picture taken with a gorilla.
Mario had fun with the monkeys too.
We got to the hotel and I was thinking he wasn't going to sleep that night...WRONG! 9 hours he slept.
The next day Mario went swimming and Alejandro got to stick his feet in the pool...well it was suppose to be just his feet but Mario didn't see how far he put him in and when I turned to look he was belly button deep! So Alejandro got to swim too.
We came home today. Let me say even though it was 2-3 days nothing more we both feel so much more relaxed.
We didn't buy anything for Alejandro because it was all seasonal and size 6months...So we took lots of pictures.

Yup Alejandro stayed up until 3 am two nights ago.
Not sure what happened to him but it was a long night. He slept for a little over 5 hours though...
I do believe it is part Mario's doing though. For the past week we've been trying to do a routine of bathing him, feeding him and putting him to sleep. That night Mario said "I'm too tired to give him a bath tonight."
I guess he wasn't too tired to stay up with a whiny baby that night either. I bet he'll go for the bath every night!
NOW
Our night time routine goes as follows:
An ounce of breast milk in a bottle
A bath
Lotion
Dressed
Nursing on both sides to make sure he gets enough to last him the night.
Then Mario will take him and pat his back for 5 mintues to get any bubbles.
Then its into the bassinet.
Wednesday night Alejandro slept from 11:15-6:20, ate from 6:30-8, then slept from 8-12. Needless to say so did Momma :)
It was nice to allow Mario to just change his diaper and head back to bed. He's a little worn out.We went to our local DHS to basically tell them I am using the pump regularly. That's where we get the breast pump from. Anyhow I asked today if they could weight Alejandro. We purposely put him in the same clothes just in case they said they would weigh him. He only gained 5oz in 4 weeks.
WHAT?! No more than 5 oz in four weeks! I'm totally at a loss for words. Yes he is little but he is growing! His clothes are still huge on him yes! BUT they are becoming a better fit! He poops and pees and sometimes even more poop than what they want in a day. We have an appointment tomorrow at 11:15 for a weight check at the hospital and I really hope it registers that he has gained more than 5 oz! If not I think I will cry. He won't take a bottle hardly at all only wants to eat from me.
Hmmm *calm down Rae* I just am worried now.
OKAY that was written yesterday...
Today! We went to the doctor, he weigh 7lbs 7oz. I though that wasn't enough, but Dr. Halbur says that is wonderful weight gain. 11oz in 25 days, just a little under a half an oz per day. I told her about his bottle/pacifier problem with latching. After letting Alejandro suck on her finger she said, "to be honest, I'm surprised he's gained that much weight."
She said babies with a recessed jaw like Alejandro has don't typically gain that much weight in a month. That being said she reccommended a different nipple for his bottle and gave me sample of those nipples :)
Phew I didn't think I'd care too much about a few ounces but Lord Almighty the thought of something causing him not to gain was a scary one.
