Sunday
We are also planning on going to Wal*Mart to get groceries for the week. Since having Alejandro we go to the store once a week. Before we'd go when we needed something. Now I have to plan, blah.
Tomorrow Grandma Ellie is coming to spend part of the day with us. It'll be nice for her to be able to see Alejandro since she isn't sick anymore.
Maybe Mario and I can get out to the post office while she is here.
Now it's off to give Alejandro a bath and figure out what we are going to do for photos.

Milestones!
Then of course the weight gain!
Then last night Alejandro's cord stump fell off. We have a belly button! It's so cute :) It makes him look so different!
And the last but MOST definitely not least, Alejandro slept in his bassinet for 5 and a half hours!!! And he's been sleeping in it now going on two hours! I can't believe he is growing up so fast.
What a fabulous day for us it was :)

Update!
On a different note we had to take Alejandro to the emergency room last night. He cried from 9 am until 2 pm nonstop. Then slept for two hours. And cried from 4pm until we got to the hospital and while we were at the hospital. So from 4pm until about 10:30pm. The doctor said he may just be colicky and sent us home. After all of that crying our little man is tuckered out. He has been sleeping practically all day. He ate for maybe a total of an hour and has been asleep since 10:30 last night really. Needless to say I feel like I got too much sleep last night haha.
It's so hard to hold your baby while he is crying uncontrollably and you can't do anything to calm him down. He wasn't hungry, dirty, hot nor cold. He just cried and cried and cried. So did I. I didn't want to but it got to the point I had to call Mario to ask him what I should do. Mario came home early from work and we took him into the hospital. Poor baby boy :(
Hopefully we are done with the hospital and doctor's until his two month appointment! So stressful being in and out, in and out.

Weight
So we have been basically feeding constantly trying to get his weight up in order to keep him out of the hospital.
Also, I think his umbilical cord wants to fall off soon. I'm not sure how it's suppose to look, but hope it's ok.
Off to feed this little one again!

Monday
Things are going well, just different. I do believe Mario and I are able to function on less sleep now. I just wish we could get Alejandro to go to sleep earlier maybe 12 or so. And then wake up at 5. He sleeps well, just goes to bed so late.
Aunt Ashley came up with Bucka the Great and Grandma on Saturday. They stayed and saw Alejandro. Ashley couldn't seem to be happier with him.
Anyhow, Alejandro just fell asleep. That means if I fall asleep right away I can get 2-3 hours!

TGIF
Alejandro has been an absolute delight to have with us. Granted he still hasn't grasped nursing without the shield. But is nursing amazing with it! What a relief, I was hoping he'd take to it well, seeing as I am home and it is free for him to nurse instead of using formula.
Today is Mario's first day back to work, he goes in at 3. I must admit I'm not looking forward to it (neither is he). But I think he's getting a little bit of cabin fever. Plus, when he is at work and the regulars see him again after he's been gone for a week they will ask why. Which just gives him another excuse to be the proud picture showing daddy he already is. He takes pictures of Alejandro with his cell phone each day.
Last night we decided to were going to feed Alejandro a little bit, then we give him a bath, and then let him nurse until he was full. He sleeps so much better when he has had a bath. We started that at 9, by 10:30 we were all sound asleep. He stayed asleep until 2:15, then was awake for three hours. We finally got him to sleep around 5. And woke up at 9:30.
We have a good night, then a not so good night. But now that we know a bath works so well we might keep this up.

Baby is here!
Thursday I woke up from a dream. The dream was I was in a cooking show and had to sucessfully make it through a contraction in order to get an ingredient. I woke up at 3:30 after only two hours of sleep. Went to the bathroom and thought "I think my water is leaking"
I decided to go sit in the living room, because if it wasn't real Mario would have to go to work that night.
Contractions 5 minutes apart, 60-80 seconds, from the get go. Nothing painful just "there". I called first nurse and told her I think my water broke and she told me to go in. I went to tell Mario it was time and he said "are you sure?" "Yup!" "Okay, just a little bit longer" and he goes to roll over to go to sleep again! "Mario I'm serious, I called the nurse and she told me to go in." He finally got up.
We got to the hospital about 6:45, did the monitoring and were set free to labor however I wished. I started walking. AWFUL! Contractions lasting 90 seconds about 15 second apart! NO WAY! I laid in bed, hated it! Couldn't move at all! Finally my midwife came in and checked me. 4 cm and fully dilated. It was about 9 by that time. I honestly couldn't tell you, time flew so fast!
Then I asked the midwife what I could do, she suggested a bath. They ran me a bath and I LOVED it! I literally had 35-45 minutes basically "contraction free". Mario actually had time to go home and get the suitcase! And yes I was calm enough to let him leave :)
Mario got back to the hospital and things really picked up. I couldn't tell you the length nor duration of the contractions. I laid in that tub with my eyes shut, moaning, groaning, screaming, hitting the sides of the tub until the nurse came in and asked me if I was pushing. "NO but I WANT to!" She checked me I was 7-8 cm at 11:30 am. I looked at Mario and one contraction later I hit the side of the tub so hard the jacuzzi turned on without pushing the button! The nurses came in a long with my midwife, I said "I want to push!" They told me I have to get out of the tub, they aren't insured to do water births. I told them I couldn't move. That's when the nurse got ballsy. "You cannot have this baby in this tub, get up!" I lifted myself out of the tub, Mario said like a really mad person and practically ran to the bed. My midwife checked me ready to go! I pushed for less than 10 minutes and Mario Alejandro was born! One minor stitch and that's the story!
Stats: Mario Alejandro, 6 lbs 14 oz, 20 in 11:41 am Jan 29, 2009.
