JUNE

Just relaxing in his carseat at a softball game against Pella. Lord Almighty that was a hot game!
After Ashley played at Pella, Mario and Rio and I left to go get some Smokey Row. Rio enjoyed licking the white chocolate off of Daddy's cookie.
When Ashley was able to leave her game we all went to El Charro in Pella and Rio enjoyed a 'Jarrito'...okay Mario enjoyed it, Rio just wanted the bottle.
A close up of Rio attacking the bottle.
Sleeping with Ashley's boyfriend Matthew at one of Ashley's games. Poor Matthew had to walk around and sway for 15 minutes for this to happen. Oh well, Momma was keeping score!

Update on the little one

We went to the pediatric opthomologist on Tuesday. Rio did fabulous, he followed each item like he was suppose to. When the doctor put one hand in front of his eye he reached up and pushed it away. She later dilated his eyes and continued the procedure. In conclusion, his eyes are perfect! This is a wonderful piece of news, it helps hearing some good news every once in a while.

As of now we still don't know what we are to do from here, what Rio has, nor if he has anything. We keep praying day in and day out that things are perfect and the tests just got switched or messed up. It is all in the hands of God, only he can truly heal and I know that is what he is doing with Rio.

Tomorrow is Mario's first Father's Day. I have tried twice to do a hand print for him. The first time was a flour recipe and instead of being an imprint, it turned into a hand print balloon! The second was Plaster of Paris...I didn't even get to put his hands in it before it dried up!

My mom had a good point, it might be a fabulous thing for the three of us to do together on Monday (Mario's day off). So as of now Mario has a digital key chain and a card. Here's a picture of the card.

Which is perfect because Mario's nickname is "Burro" (donkey) and they say Rio is "Burrito" (little donkey)

So to wrap this up, I want to wish all of you a Happy Father's Day!

June Pictures

Here are a few pictures from June!
ENJOY!

Rio hanging out with his 'Ribbit' at Aunt Ashley's softball game.

Rio KNOCKED out!

The Gipe's had a family reunion May 14th. This is Rio's great-grandmother Mary. Rio was worn out after a long day at the park meeting people his mommy didn't even know.

My dad's side of the family. All of the kids together.

Rio wore himself out in his jumperoo.
Woke up shortly there after to a messy boy.

Posing for the camera. Do I see a future lawyer?

Loving the gummy smile!

His new fastination!

Rio's new sun hat. Not so sure what to think about it.

He's a big boy!

Update on lil Rio

His GI doc ordered an ultrasound of his liver and an x-ray on his chest. Ultrasound came back perfect...YAY right??

Wrong, his chest x-ray came back, his vertebrae aren't fused right. So that along with his liver enzymes being elevated his GI doc says it is a sign but not diagnostic of 'Alagilles Syndrome'. It has a list of bad things...and a list of good things. Basically too much to type and I haven't read anything online because I do NOT want to scare myself. The best part of what i was told was it could reverse itself and everything could go to normal, that and it is the most common reason newborns have liver problems.

Anyhow, we have an appointment on Tuesday with a pediatric opthomologist to help tell us if it is Alagilles or not. Even if the eye test comes back with signs of Alagilles Syndrome it could still be a number of things.

Doctor's Appointment

We went to the doctor on Thursday and Rio found a little girlfriend. What happened was...
We walked into the clinic and there was a baby girl about 7-8 months old sitting next to the door with her parents. As soon as they saw each other they locked eyes and gooed and cooed back and forth. We sat down on the other side of the room and Rio and 'friend' kept staring at each other. As she got carried away for her appointment she arched her back around the door to keep staring.

I wish we had the video camera, it was adorable.
